Dr Jeb McAviney

Chiropractor, Scoliosos Bracing and Rehabilitation Clinician

Dr Jeb McAviney is a chiropractor with a special expertise in the clinical management of scoliosis.

He holds both a Masters of Chiropractic and a Masters of Pain Medicine, and his sole clinical focus is the treatment of scoliosis in children and in adults. Over the past decade he has dedicated himself to studying the numerous scoliosis rehabilitation and bracing techniques from around the world to understand, compare, and provide the most evidence-based approaches to combating this complicated condition.

Dr McAviney’s determination to provide scoliosis treatment took him to the UK where he completed certification in the SpineCor dynamic scoliosis bracing system. He became a SpineCor bracing provider and later accredited as a SpineCor trainer and Research and Development Manager for SpineCor. His role included providing scoliosis bracing training to clinics and hospitals throughout North America, Europe and Asia and Australia and he was part of the team that developed the SpineCor Adult scoliosis brace.

Whilst living and working in the UK he established the London Scoliosis Clinic in Harley Street, a multidisciplinary treatment centre giving patients access to world class bracing and exercise rehabilitation with orthopaedic oversight.

Dr McAviney now resides in Sydney, Australia where he consults at the Sydney Scoliosis Clinic and as part of the orthopaedic spine team at St George Private Hospital, Spine Service and Special Spinal Rehabilitation. His goal is to provide the right type of treatment, at the right time, for each individual case.

Dr. McAviney is an internationally recognised speaker, presenting at medical, scientific, chiropractic, and orthotic conferences in over 17 countries. He has published research in the Journal of Manipulative and Physiological Therapies and has presented research at the Scoliosis Research Society (SRS), IMAST, International Society for the Study of the Lumbar Spine (ISSLS), Society of Scoliosis and Orthopaedic Rehabilitation (SOSORT), International Congress of Lumbopelvic and Lower Back Pain and The World Federation of Chiropractic Congress. He is also an active member of The Spine Society of Australia, the Australian Chiropractic Association, The Royal Society of Medicine (RSM) and SOSORT. As well as being an active member of SOSORT Dr McAviney is part of the society’s scientific committee, and a reviewer for the European Spine Journal.
